The ceremony of honoring the top researchers and technologists of University of Bonab (UoB) was held on Monday, December 12, 2022 in the Allameh Tabatabai hall with the presence of students, researchers, industrial owners, faculty members, board of directors and scientific assistants of UoB.
 
Prof. Dr. Mojtabi Abbasian, president of university, congratulating the research week to the researchers, staff and students. While he referring to the mission of UoB as a community-oriented and mission-oriented new generation university, declared all our efforts is solving the needs of the local region and we will try to support the professors and researchers with maximum capability we can do. He continued "research is one of the major functions in a university that should be nurtured and fostered in order to advance quality of education. The capability of an instructor to conduct research is expedient in addressing the pressing issues in the society which is starting with the classroom". In the end, Dr. Abbasian said, "With the support of professors and researchers, who are often among the top 1% and 2% scientists in the world, our university will try to solve the problems of industries located in the region, environmental problems, the restoration of Lake Urmia, etc."
 
Prof. Dr. Ali Haji Badli, vice-chancellor for education and research of the university, while appreciating and thanking the members of the academic staff, scientific assistants, as well as the best research students and introducing the components of research development in the university, he counted the brilliance of the university professors in international forums as the great leap of the university in the field of research and said, "The presence of 10% of Bonab University professors in the group of top 2% researchers as well as the top 1% top researchers in the world is the result of the round-the-clock efforts of the big family of the university, and this center stands out like a shining gem in the south of the province".
 He emphasized in his speech, "more and more attention is needed in the field of research and the entry of decision-making authorities to review the current process, the oil economy is not a wealth creator and the category that keeps every country on a solid foundation is knowledge, science and innovation. It is the human power of nations; Therefore, in order to protect the scientific position and achieve practical researches to get rid of dependence on foreigners, more efforts should be made to realize the share of research from G.D.P".

 
Dr. Habib Etemadi, the director of research and technology of the university, while referring to the university's one-year performance in the field of research, said: relying on the statistics announced by reputable scientific centers for evaluating science in the world, UoB has made a great leap in the field of research and other components.  
He further pointed to the publication of university articles in prestigious international journals and said, "A significant percentage (about 70%) of the Q1 articles of this university is part of the 10% hot subjective journals which is considered a new record, and also the per capita articles in 2022 It is 54.2, which is a significant increase compared to last year, and this figure is considered a high figure compared to many universities in the region. He further pointed to the performance of the university in the field of communication with the industry and said "The amount of contracts concluded for extra-university research projects is a total of eleven billion Rials, which has grown significantly compared to last year".
