Scholarships for Students of University of Bonab at Zafar Steel Industry

In line with fostering industry-academic collaboration, scholarship conditions for students of University of Bonab at Zafar Steel Industry in the city of Bonab have been announced.

According to the report from the Public Relations Office of University of Bonab, following the memorandum of understanding signed with Zafar Steel Company in Bonab, eligible candidates have been introduced for interviews and the initiation of the interview process with the respective company.

The aim of this initiative is to attract and retain talented and outstanding human capital in the province and city, enhance the scientific and technical capabilities of students through continuous engagement with economic units, and strive to provide relevant training to attract top university talents to meet the needs of the industry.

Prof. Ali Haji Badali, the Vice President of Education and Research at University of Bonab emphasized the significance of the job scholarship program in the industry, stating that it increases motivation for talented individuals and represents a valuable investment for the industry. According to the program, economic units can train their workforce based on their current and future needs with the assistance of the university.

Continuing, he elaborated on the conditions and benefits of the program, stating that the primary requirement for eligibility is a GPA above 15/20 for undergraduate students (preferably students from the 4th semester and above, particularly male students) in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering. For master's students (preferably students from the 2nd semester and above, particularly male students), the overall GPA should be above 16/20 in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Accepted candidates must be employed in Zafar Steel Complex in Bonab and work in the designated unit.

He further explained that according to the executive agreement of this program, those accepted will receive a salary from the employer during their study period. Additionally, accepted students can participate in internship programs, skill enhancement courses, and apprenticeships simultaneously with their studies, receiving a monthly amount of 50 million Rials for single students and 56 million Rials for married students.

Prof. Haji Badali concluded by stating that the list of eligible students, several times based on the existence capacity, will be introduced to Zafar Steel for exclusive interviews to award the job scholarships, and the final results for the scholarship agreement will be determined.

He emphasized that the university must facilitate conditions for students to attend the economic unit and ensure that internships, elective courses, practical training, and accepted theses align with the needs of the economic unit offering the scholarship."
